Whether you are working independently or with a large group, creating something that is functional or decorative can be a rewarding experience.  Learn the basics of the potters wheel and or Hand-building - making a unique and functional piece of art in just one lesson.

Each Artist will be able to decorate their work using press molds, rubber and wood stamps, textures and under-glazes for color. For those on-going students, glazes in a multitude of colors are available for use.

GROUP LESSONS / MUDD PARTIES
(3 or more)

1 to 1.5 Hour Lesson - $50. per student
Includes 1 project per class, , $20 for each additional project.
If you purchase 6 private lessons you will receive a $10 discount on each class - total $240

2 Hour Lesson - $75. per student
Includes 2 projects per class, $20 for each additional project.
If you purchase 6 private lessons you will receive a $15 discount on each class - total $360

 

PRIVATE LESSONS
(1-2 students)

Includes 1 project per class, , $20 for each additional project.

2 Hour Lesson - $100. per student

PARENT and TODDLER LESSONS
(AGES 1-3)

  Parents and Little one’s work together to create a tile or slab project.
Come spend time with your little one creating a project from a slab of clay (slumping into a mold) creating a plate, bowl or plaque. We also offer 8x8 bisque tiles and large bisque mugs to do some good ol’ fashion finger painting on.

1 Hour Lesson
$25 per parent/childs pair - Includes 1 project per lesson
$45 per parent/child pair - Includes 2 projects per lesson (1 each)

An 8x8 Bisque Tile $15.
A large bisque Mug $25.

BABY HAND & FOOT PRINTS
Offering a variety of unique ways to capture
your child's hands and feet.
Gift certificates available / Babies must be at least 5 weeks of age.

Single and Double Prints

BIRTHDAY/PRIVATE PARTIES AT THE STUDIO 

Have your Party here at Santa Monica Mudd.
Invite  friends and family to join you as you each create a unique and functional art project by Hand-Building or using the Potters Wheel. Bring decorations, food and drinks to
help celebrate the occasion.

Allow 2 hours to create. 
You may extend the length of the party for an additional charge.

MOBILE POTTERY

Parties and Private Lessons

Specializing in Birthday Parties, Class Projects and Private Lessons. Malibu Mudd will come to you with all the fixings to help make your party unique, creative and fun.

Hand-building Parties:
Each Artist will receive a slab of clay with a choice of molds and stencils to build from. Once the dish or frame is built, the decorating process begins. A selection of press molds, rubber stamps, textures and under-glazes are used to complete each project.

Wheel Throwing Parties:
Each Artist will create a project on the Potters wheel with the help of an Instructor. Students waiting to use the wheel will begin the decorating process using press molds, coil and pinch techniques. Each Artist will finish off their piece by painting – using under-glazes.

Allow a 2 Hour time block with a break between Building and Painting. A $25 charge for travel over 25 miles from  Santa Monica Mudd Studio location.

Rules and Regulations:
- Allow 3-4 weeks for projects to be fired and returned to the host of the party.
- Santa Monica Mudd is not responsible for breaks, cracks or the loss of projects.
- Everyone who creates at Santa Monica Mudd is responsible for his or her own personal belongings. It’s the Artists responsibility (or parent of small Artist) to clean up his/her area.
- As a working Mom - I am a Mom first and foremost. If there is a situation and I need to cancel a class, each student will be notified before class begins and I will work with each individual to find a time to make up the cancelled class.
- Santa Monica Mudd would appreciate a 24 hour cancellation from a client.  One class from a "Session" can be made up during regular business hours.
- No Refunds on classes or purchases.
- Santa Monica Mudd has the right to refuse service to anyone.
